Granite and Marble,Onyx,Natural stone,Sandstone,Quartz,Slate,Tuff,Basalt,Travertine

Granite
(lat. "granum" - grain) is a very solid (2,6-2,7 ton/m3) and
strong stone (its compression resistance amounts to 90-250
MPa, which is twice higher than marble has). Fine granite
with grain size up to 2 mm is the most long-lived, while granite
with grains bigger than 10 mm - the least. Granite stone
is resistant to chemical pollution and frost, it doesn't lose its characteristics
during 300 cycles of freezing and defrosting. Such characteristics of
granite allow one to use it in such places, where high
endurance of material is needed - as steps and curb-stone, paving stone,
stone for facing metro stations, stores. In indoor interiors granite
can be used for facing floor, walls and fireplaces, for manufacturing
window-sills and table coverings, ladders, columns and balusters. Unlike
marble granite doesn't require additional protection
against mechanical failures and action of acidiferous liquids. Granite,
quarried from the mountains of Italy, the U.S., India, and other countries
around the world, is one of the most popular natural stones on
the market now. Available in a striking array of colors, granite's
durability and longevity make it ideal for kitchen countertops
and other heavily used surfaces, including table tops and floors. While
synthetic surfaces scratch easily and melt under hot cookware, granite
resists heat. Granite is also one of the most
bacteria-resistant kitchen surfaces, and it is not affected by citric
acid, coffee, tea, alcohol, or wine. It is also nearly impossible to scratch,
and with proper cleaning, will not stain under normal use (ask your professional
contractor about sealants available to further improve resistance to staining). The
best stone for kitchen countertops, floors, and
other heavily used surfaces.
A leading consumer magazine recently compared granite with engineered
stone, ceramic tile, laminate, butcher block, and other manufactured surfaces.
Granite received the highest overall performance rating as a kitchen countertop
material. Granite is well suited for exterior applications
such as cladding, paving, and curbing.
Marble
Marble.This
name comes from Ancient Greece (translated from Greek "marmaros"
means "shining stone"). Marble comes alive
in the rays of light penetrating deep into the stone - there appears a
light luminescent aureole around the object made of marble.
Antique masters already knew that this is the unique material for sculptures.
Venus from Milos, Parfenon, the Temple of Zeus Olympic and the columns
in the Temple of Artemis in Efes - one of the seven world wonders - are
made of marble colored warm white. Michelangelo
idolized white marble and called it "the
soul of the universe", "the gleam of God's face". But marble
is not only white stone. This stone shines and sparkles
with pink, yellow, grey, blue, greenish, reddish, brown colors, strikes
by its deep black color and by various color combinations. Colored marble
usually is rather cloudy (has many so called "stone veins",
which are cracks filled with natural admixture. Depending on colors chosen,
"stone" interior can be warm or cold, massive or airy,
luxury or modest, dark or light.
Tables and window-sills, fire-places,
columns and stairs facing by a marble or granite, stoning flaps and plinths,
and also stylish vases, statuettes, figures carved from a stone, will
give refinement to any interior! To bring the beauty of stone to every house!
